Step 1: Prepare your denial data summary (no PHI required)
Export from your practice management or clearinghouse — but aggregate the data first:
- Total denial count by reason code
- Total dollar amount denied by reason code
- Total count and dollars by payer
- Denial rate by CPT code family (E&M, procedures, labs, etc.)
- Month-over-month comparison (current month vs. prior month)
